March 19, 2004: Sonogram provide proof that our baby is a BOY!!! David cheers and chants "BOY! BOY! BOY!" incessantly. Britnye finds solace in the hopes of a little girl to come. David and two buddies from law school smoke cigars, sip scotch and celebrate the Y chromosome.
March 22, 2004: Website is finally put to use as a personal family page.
April 1, 2004: Britnye had to spend most of the day in the hospital. The doctors ran tests but couldn't figure out what it was. The medicine they gave for a possible infection did seem to make Britnye feel better. On the upside, we did get two more pictures out of the deal.
April 7, 2004: David updates the site and apologizes for not updating it lately. With finals approaching, the next update will likely be after our civil ceremony.
April 22, 2004: David will probably be in trouble when Britnye finds out he took a break from studying to update the website. David and Britnye were married April 17, 2004 in a civil ceremony performed by their friend Grant Butler (who "rarely drinks and has no other vices"). Many of their law school buddies were in attendance. David also found out the Marines had accepted him for officer candidacy school for this summer.
September 14, 2004: So much has passed since a more formal update of this webpage. Obviously, we have a new addition to the family. Christopher James Segraves was born August 9, 2004 at approximately 5:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (I was doing the Medal of Honor run at OCS). A few days after CJ was born, I received my commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. I returned to Denver to be with Britnye and CJ. Then, two weeks later, we returned to Boston for our second year of law school. Currently, Britnye and I are trying to figure out the best way to juggle taking care of CJ, preparing for class and looking for summer employment.
February 16, 2005: Oops! Guess I forgot to update the event log with school and everything. Britnye's loaded up on credit hours to make up for taking a light load last semester. I'm taking less hours so I can watch CJ. We're taking CJ to our legislation clinic. He's really great. He doesn't fuss, but he does like to contribute to class discussion. CJ got his first tooth a couple of weeks ago. He already has another one. I'll try to update this page more often. Until then...
May 31, 2006: Well, that was one heck of a lapse of time between log updates. Since the last log, we've graduated from law school. CJ walked across the stage with us (well, I carried him). We're now in Denver and studying for the bar exam (fun). CJ's in a new school for a few days a week. He's learning words left and right. He just got a plastic golf set, so I'm sure he'll start asking Pa-Pa (Marty) to go hit balls soon. The Colorado bar doesn't look to be too bad (knock on wood). They grade objectively, so that should help us. That's it for now, more later.
This thing is so out of date. It might be my new hobby to fix it.
